Ron Barber

Ron Barber ( born August 25, 1945 in Wakefield, England ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party.

Biography

Barber was born in 1945 in Wakefield. His father was stationed there. Later, the family returned to the United States and Barber grew up in Tucson, Arizona. He attended the local Rincon High School. After he finished school in 1963, he studied at the University of Arizona, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1967 (BA).

Barber has now worked as a businessman and business with his wife, a small business in Tucson. From 1976 to 2006 he worked at the Arizona Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities in which he presided in the later stages of his career as a director. From 2007 to 2012, he served on the staff of Congressman Gabrielle Giffords. In this capacity he accompanied Giffords and 8 January 2011 to a public citizens Question Time at a shopping center in Casas Adobes, about 17 kilometers north of Tucson, during which there was an assassination attempt on Giffords. The following six people were killed, 13 other people, including Barber, were injured, some seriously.

As a result of Giffords assassination attempt perpetrated on them their mandate stepped down for health reasons, Barber successfully ran for the Democratic Party in the election now become necessary for the renewal of the vacant seat and heard since June 12, 2012 to the House of Representatives of the United States.

Barber is married and has two daughters.
