Ron Frenz

Ronald Wade Frenz ( born 1960 in Pittsburgh) is an American comic book artist.

Life and work

Frenz started working as a professional cartoonist in the early 1980s. First he was able to achieve greater success with his work on the traditional, laid by Marvel Comics series The Amazing Spider-Man (1984-1987) and The Mighty Thor (1989-1993). Artistic partner during this time included the writers Roger Stern and Tom DeFalco, and in particular the Pens Joe Rubinstein. Probably the most famous figure whose appearance Frenz originally coined, it was the Spider-Man villain " Venom ", which met with the readers on an extremely positive response and to this day is one of the most popular villains of the series, which among other things in his use as the main villain in the movie " Spiderman 3" from 2007 was reflected.

For the publisher Dark Horse Comics Frenz drew the series Ka - Zar the Savage, The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones and Star Wars.

Between 1995 and 1999, served as the principal signatory to the Frenz published by DC Comics traditional science fiction series Superman. He was following Dan Jurgens after, who had exercised the dual function of the author and illustrator of Superman from 1991 to 1995, from 1995 onwards, however, it was limited, the series 'only' to write, as he passed on the visualization of their scripts to Frenz. With DeFalco, he worked on the short-lived series A -Next and the series Dark Devil and The Buzz.

Currently Frenz illustrates regularly the heading "This Happened to Me" in the magazine Outdoor Life.
