Ron Greschner

Ron Greschner ( born December 22, 1954 in Goodsoil, Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who was active during his playing career for the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League.

Career

Ron Greschner began his career as a hockey player in the Canadian Junior Football League British Columbia Hockey League, where he was active for the Chilliwack Chiefs until 1971. He then went three years for the New Westminster Bruins of the Western Hockey League on the ice and exceeded in the 1973/74 season the 100 point mark. The defensive player has been selected in the NHL Amateur Draft 1974 in the second round than a total of 32 players from the New York Rangers and managed to immediately jump into the NHL squad of Rangers, but graduated in the same season and seven games for the Providence Reds in the American Hockey League. In the 1978/79 season he qualified with the Rangers after victories against the Los Angeles Kings, Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders for the finals for the Stanley Cup. However, the team lost the series in five games against the Canadiens de Montréal.

1979, the Canadian was a member of the NHL All-Star selection that participated in the Challenge Cup and three matches completed against the national team of the Soviet Union. Due to his consistent performances Greschner 1980 he received an invitation to the NHL All-Star Game and took there the crew of the Campbell Conference. For the two seasons 1981/82 and 1982/83 season he was almost completely due to multiple injuries from playing out and completed only 39 games in the regular season.

The Canadians stood up to end of his career in 1990 permanently for the New York Rangers in action, but could never win the Stanley Cup.
