Ron Johnson (U.S. politician)

Ronald Harold "Ron" Johnson ( born April 8, 1955 in Mankato, Minnesota) is an American businessman and politician who is associated with the Tea Party movement. Since January 2011, he represents the state of Wisconsin in the U.S. Senate.

Life

Ron Johnson studied at the University of Minnesota economics. After graduation, he married the daughter of businessman Howard Curler, co-founder of Curwod Industries, which is now part of the multinational company Bemis Company. His brother in law Jeff Curler is the CEO and Chairman of Bemis.

Before entering politics Johnson worked in the private sector. As a member of the Republican Party, he won on November 5, 2010, the Senate elections in the state of Wisconsin against the Democratic incumbent Russ Feingold and thus took over his seat at the beginning of 2011.

Johnson is married and lives with his wife and their three children, all of which can hold a university degree from University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, Wisconsin,
