Ron Pope

Ron Pope ( born July 23, 1983, full name Ronald Michael Pope) is an American pop and rock and roll singer-songwriter. He grew up in Marietta, Georgia, in the United States and currently resides in New York City. Together with Zach Berkman he wrote in 2005 the Internethit A Drop in the Ocean, which he made ​​his breakthrough as a solo artist. With his music, he is both in the U.S. and internationally successful.

Background and career

Ronald Michael Pope grew up in Atlanta on the outskirts of Marietta. There he attended the East Cobb Middle School and the Joseph Wheeler High School. The guitar playing, he began very early. But it only took in high school, a greater part in his life when he played in various bands. After high school he attended for two years, the Rutgers University to play baseball there.

After an injury that ended his career, he moved in 2003 to the New York University ( NYU) in order to pursue his other passion, music. There he made in 2005 with a degree in anthropology. After joining a course on writing songs with other students, he learned the later band members Zack Berkman and Paul Hammer know. They founded the band The District with Chris Kienel, Will Frish and Mike Clifford. In September 2011, he recorded his latest album in the The Magic Shop Studios in SoHo (Manhattan ). The album appeared in Atlanta in April 2012. The Latest EP called Monster appeared on 19 December, 2012.

Tour

In March 2011, Pope was on a nine-week tour across the U.S. to promote the album Whatever It Takes. The tour was supported by Ari Herstand and Zach Berkman. The second half of the tour ended in New York on 20 November 2011. In this section, Alexis Babini and Zach Berkman played in the opening act. In February 2012, Pope made ​​his first trip outside the United States. The tour includes dates in London, Manchester and Nottingham in England.
