Ronehamn

Ronehamn is a place (Swedish småort ) on the Swedish island of Gotland in the parish ( swedish socks ) Rone on the Swedish island of Gotland.

History

The place is situated on the east coast 4.5 km southeast of the Church of Rone, 52 km south of Visby, 36 km south of Roma, 10 km southeast of Hemse, 22 km southwest of Ljugarn and 20 km north of Burgsvik. Ronehamn consists of a small place, a country store and a fishing harbor (Swedish fiskeläge ) with boat harbor and marina guests.

In the surrounding area there are many cultural monuments in the form of stone burial mounds from the Bronze Age and the so-called Sliprännor or Slipskårestenar, which are stones that have ingrained from earlier times, straight slots of a few tens of centimeters in length. One of the famous stone grave mound (Swedish Roese ) is Uggarde rojr, which is one of the largest Bronze Age grave mound in Northern Europe.

Just south of the harbor is a swimming area with a campground. Further south lies the nature reserve Ålarve. North of the harbor is the fishing spot (Swedish fiskeläge ) Hus, with its typical moles of stone and its small fishing huts of stone and of wood, some with characteristic Flistak.

A popular event is the Ronehamnstage (Swedish Ronehamnsdagen ) in late July with lottery Tipspromenad, a game where you have to answer attached to different places in the terrain issues, and organized by the Red Cross Bazaar. The Ronehamnscup in football is carried out since 2000 on the second Saturday in July.
