Rong Kham District

Amphoe Somdet ( Thai: อำเภอ ร่องคำ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the south of the province of Kalasin. The Kalasin Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

The neighboring districts are clockwise starting from the west: Amphoe Kamalasai in the province of Kalasin and Amphoe Pho Chai and Chiang Khwan the province of Roi Et

History

Rong Kham was on February 1, 1973 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the two Tambon Rong Kham and Samakkhi were separated from Amphoe Kamalasai. On October 10, 1993 Rong Kham has been promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Somdet is divided into three communes ( tambon), which in turn consist of 40 villages ( Muban ).

There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Rong Kham ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ร่องคำ ) consists of parts of the Tambon Rong Kham.

There are also two " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
