Ronnie Browne

Ronnie Browne ( born August 20, 1937 in Edinburgh, Lothian, Scotland, actually Ronald Grant) is a Scottish folk musician and founding member of the Corries.

Career

In 1955 he founded during his time at Edinburgh College of Art, as a guitarist with Roy Williamson and Bill Smith Corrie Folk Trio the group. 1963 met the singer Paddie Bell to do so. After they had in 1965 and Smith in 1966 left the group, Williamson and Browne continued their work as a duo. After Williamson's death in 1990, he then continued his work continued as a solo musician. Today, it occurs primarily as a singer of the unofficial Scottish anthem Flower of Scotland at football and rugby games.
