Ronny Heer
Ronny Heer ( born January 9, 1981 in Wolhusen ) is a former Swiss Nordic combined.
Career
Army, which operates at SC Horw skiing since he was twelve years of age, made his international debut in 1999 in the B- Nordic Combined World Cup. Already in the first competitions he scored 19 points, and thus at the end of the 61st place in the overall standings. At the Junior World Championship 1999 in Saalfelden army won the silver medal with the team in the team competition.
Also in the season 1999/2000 he successfully launched, so that he made his debut in the World Cup Nordic Combined on 5 February 2000 in Hakuba Japan. Because it but the achievement of World Cup points was denied in the first race, he started still firmly in B- World Cup, where he was able to increase its services continuously. In the Swiss Championships in Nordic Combined in 2000 in the French Prémanon he reached the bronze medal behind Urs Kunz and Andrew Hurschler. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2001 in Lahti he belonged to the Swiss team. The single game, however, he did not go despite message at the start. In team competition, he reached the tenth place together with Andreas Hurschler, Ivan Rieder and Andy Hartmann. On 1 December 2001 in Lillehammer army succeeded for the first time the profit of World Cup points. Shortly before he was able to win even at the Swiss Championships Nordic Combined 2001 behind Andy Hartmann silver. On December 9, 2001 army reached the sixth place at the World Cup in Štrbské Pleso first time, a place in the top ten. In the following race, he won the World Cup points and reached there in the sprint of Oberwiesenthal again in sixth place.
At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City Army came in the sprint as well as in single respectively on the 29th place. In the team competition it together with Andreas Hurschler Jan Schmid and Ivan Rieder managed to reach the seventh place. At the end of the current season 2001/ 02 he still get more points wins, so he finally took the 19th place in the overall World Cup standings. In the sprint, he reached the 15th place. In the Swiss Championships in Nordic Combined 2002 French Les Tuffes he won again in 2001 as silver. The start of the new season 2002/ 03 was less good for the army, so he clearly missed rankings among the top ten most. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2003 in Val di Fiemme, he reached the sprint the 21th Place, in a single place and the 31 with the team in the team competition in eighth place. Once again he reached mediocre rankings after the World Cup, he had to settle with the 36th place in the overall World Cup standings.
In the following two years he was able to bring his performances rarely on the level of 2001 and mostly stayed in constant region for places 20 to 30 In the Swiss Championships in Nordic Combined in 2003, however, he won silver in again behind Ivan Rieder individual competition. Also at the Swiss Championships in Nordic Combined 2004, it was again the silver medal.
On 11 February 2005 reached army with third place in the team competition in Pragelato the only World Cup podium of his career. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf, he reached the 28th place in the sprint and the 31 place in the Gundersen. With the team he reached the sixth place in the team competition. After the World Cup he started for a year back in B- World Cup. At the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006, he was ranked 20th in the individual and the 24th place in the sprint. With the team, he missed the team competition with fourth place barely a medal. After the Olympics, he started again in the World Cup and also reached from the start World Cup points. By the end of the 2005/06 season he reached one place in the top twenty and so in the end after the 2001/ 02 again on the 19th place in the overall World Cup standings.
The following year, the army succeeded in Zakopane with eighth place in the mass start for the first time a place in the top ten. However, in the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo he could reach again front places and finally finished 18th in the sprint and the 21th place in the Gundersen. With the team he reached fifth place in the team competition. In the Swiss Championships in Nordic combined army in 2007 was for the first time in his career to win the title. In his World Cup performances following the World Cup began to lose. It was not until the beginning of 2008 he was able to place back in the top twenty. On 1 August 2008 in Einsiedeln army won his first competition at the Grand Prix. In the Swiss Championships in Nordic Combined, 2008 in Einsiedeln army won against Seppi Hurschler and Joel Bieri the gold medal in singles.
In Liberec he reached the 14th place and on the large hill 28th place at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 at the Gundersen on the normal hill. In the mass start, he came on the 31st place. In the Summer Grand Prix 2009 army won two of four races and finished at the end as in 2008 the third place in the overall standings. In the World Cup, however, he had to settle for the rest of the year with posterior placements, in most cases even outside the points. In January 2010 he again reached front top rankings and was also nominated again for the Olympics.
At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver army reached in individual on the normal hill on 11th Place and in the individual large hill of the 22 course. In team competition, he finished with his team-mates ninth. After the Games, he reached the World Cup continued good results and finished at the end of the 24th place in the overall World Cup standings. In the Swiss Championships in Nordic Combined, 2010 in Einsiedeln army won for the fourth consecutive gold medal in singles. His last World Cup season 2010/11 ended army with five top -20 finishes on the 27th place overall. At the World Championships 2011 in Oslo, he was 25th in the individual normal hill and 27th of the individual in the large hill. In the team competition on the large hill, he was eighth. With the end of the 2010/11 season ended his army career.
