Geography

Geographical location

The core community is located in the Valley of Ulfe which opens in Bebra into the Fulda. West of Ronshausen the land rises to Seulingswald to go. The district Powerless is about 5.5 kilometers north-east in the valley of the grinding trench in Richelsdorfer Mountains.

The nearest large towns are Bad Hersfeld ( about 15 km southwest), Bebra ( about 6 miles west), Rotenburg ( about 12 km north-west ) and Eisenach ( about 35 km east).

Neighboring communities

Ronshausen borders in the northwest on the town Bebra ( district Weiterode ), in the north- east on the community Nentershausen, in the east on the community Wildeck, to the south by the municipality of Friedewald and in the west on the community of Bad Hersfeld (all in Hersfeld -Rotenburg ).

Community structure

The municipality consists of the two districts Ronshausen and Powerless. Within the local district of Ronshausen is, the estate Faßdorf about 1 kilometers southwest of the core community in the valley of the stream width.

In the district of Ronshausen are also the waste places of Ziebach, Rode and Nausis in south leading into the Seulingswald stream valleys.

History

The first time Runteshuson was mentioned in 1061 in a deed to the monastery of Fulda. Around 1250, the right of patronage was the Abbey Hersfeld.

Since 1359 a customs post to Ronshausen is occupied, was elevated to the road to 1834 inch for the Ulfestraße. Already in 1386 a part Ronshausen the Landgrave of Hesse. The place belonged to the Official Rotenburg.

In the Thirty Years 'War from 1618 to 1648 and during the Seven Years' War, 1756-1763, the town was destroyed several times, but in 1780 Ronshausen was mentioned as a big village with 468 inhabitants.

The community was dominated until the mid -19th century by agricultural trade. Only with the construction of the railway ( line Bebra to Eisenach ) changed all that since the mid-20th century, tourism plays a role. By the year 2014, the place was a recognized health resort.

Incorporations

On December 31, 1971, the hitherto independent neighboring municipality was incorporated Powerless.

Mayor

The incumbent mayor Markus Becker ( born 1975 ) was elected on 30 October 2011 at the first ballot with 70.5 % of votes cast. From April 2012, he has his predecessor Friedhold Zilch (SPD ) replaced in the mayor's office, which took no more after 24 years of service to choose from.

Traffic

The community is connected through the provincial road 3251 to the national transport network. About 5 kilometers to the east can be reached on the highway, the Federal highway 4 and 5 kilometers west of the highway 27

Ronshausen has a stop at the Thuringian railway from Eisenach to Bebra.

Culture and sights

Structures

  • The 800 -year-old church is a Romanesque ecclesiastical architecture in the core. The choir tower is dated to the beginning 13th century and has Romanesque style elements with its round-arched openings on sound. The church was consecrated before the Reformation of Saint Catherine. The Romanesque nave was rebuilt in 1715. The interior was equipped with a three-sided gallery and the ceiling was provided with a ton of boards. It was decorated in 1719 by Joh Kaufuld with rich peasant Baroque painting. In 1716 a new organ by Johann Eberhard Dauphin was installed, which is available as a monument organ today. The present spire, the tower received in the year 1804. The choir room with a groin vault, apse and south windows date from the year 1900.
