Roppenheim

The French community Roppenheim located in the Rhine valley in the department of Bas- Rhin in the Alsace region. It has 945 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). The place name has existed since 1207.

Roppenheim is one of nine municipalities of the Local Government Association Communauté de communes de l' Uffried, at the same time forms its eastern boundary of the Rhine, the border with Germany.

Traffic

At the departmental road D4 is the outlet mall " Roppenheim The Style Outlets ", whose building in which more than 100 stores are set up, are visually modeled on a traditional half-timbered Alsatian village. That since 2001, designed by the British property developer Freeport factory outlet center with 23,000 m² of retail space was finally erected in 2010 by Spanish and Dutch investors and opened on 25 April 2012. The retail center provides employment for about 700 people on both sides of the border. With the cities of Strasbourg, Karlsruhe and Stuttgart also the catchment area lies on both sides of the Rhine.
