Rorgon I, Count of Maine

Rorgon I., also called Rorico or Rorich (* 770, † 839 ) was a neustrischer nobleman, Count of Rennes and Maine.

He married around 800 Rotrud († June 6 810 ), the daughter of Charlemagne. With her he had a son, Ludwig ( † 867 ), who later became abbot of Saint -Denis and Chancellor of Charles the Bald.

Later he married a second time, an otherwise unknown Bilchilde, with whom he had other children:

Rorgon I was up to the year 832 Count of Rennes, which he switched this year against the county Maine.

According to him, the family of the first Count of Maine is called Rorgoniden.
