Rory Block
Rory Block ( born November 6, 1949 in Princeton, New Jersey, actually Aurora Block) is an American blues guitarist, singer and songwriter.
Life
Rory Block was born in 1949 in Princeton, New Jersey and grew up in Manhattan. Her father, Allan Block, operating in the 1960s, a sandal shop in Greenwich Village, which has developed through his activities as a musician, one of the centers of the local folk music scene. The constant presence of folk artists in their parents' house made such an impression on her that she began as a child to learn to play the guitar (and first classical guitar ). Approximately 14 they then began to focus specifically enthusiastic about the Delta blues and studied at the time already available LPs with pre-war recordings of her black role models, by transcribing the pieces and in this way could soon enact note for note.
