Rosa Miguélez

Rosa Miguélez Ramos ( born August 27, 1953 in Ferrol, A Coruna Province ) is a Spanish politician of the Partido Socialista Obrero Español ( PSOE). Since 1999 she is member of the Socialist Group ( PSE) in the European Parliament as well as Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Fisheries.

Life

She took off a college degree in Romance Languages ​​and Literature. 1983-1987 she was mayor from 1987 to 1995 and deputy mayor of the municipality of Ares del Maestre, Spain.

From 1987 to 1989 she was Head of the Cabinet of the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the Xunta de Galicia and 1989-1993 Member of the Regional Parliament of Galicia

Since 1999 she is member of the European Parliament and member of the delegation to the Joint Parliamentary Committee European Economic Area.
