Rosa Yaseen Hasan

Rosa Yassin Hassan (Arabic روزا ياسين حسن, DMG Ruza Yasin Ḥasan; born December 1, 1974 in Damascus, Syria ) is a Syrian writer and human rights activist.

Life

Yassin was born in 1974 in Damascus in 1998 and made her degree in architecture. Since the 1990s, she wrote short stories and novels. She is a women's rights activist and founded the Syrian Association of Women for Democracy. In 2009 she participated in the writing competition for 39 Arab authors under 40 years, who had been awarded by UNESCO in Beirut under the title Beirut 39.

About the developments in Syria during the civil war in June and July 2012, she wrote in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on 13 August 2012.

Use the Heinrich Böll Foundation of the author succeeded in the fall of 2012 to escape to Germany. She is currently a guest of the Hamburg Foundation for the Politically Persecuted.
