Rosalind Scott, Baroness Scott of Needham Market

Rosalind Carol Scott, Baroness Scott of Needham Market ( born August 10, 1957 in Bath, Somerset, England) is a British politician of the Liberal Democrats.

Life

Rosalind Scott was the daughter of Kenneth Vincent Leadbeater and his wife Carol Leadbeater. Her father, a soldier in the Royal Air Force was often deployed abroad; a large part of her childhood spent Scott therefore outside of the UK, including Cyprus and Singapore. She attended the Whitby Grammar School and the Kent School. She studied at the University of East Anglia, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in the subjects "European Studies" and German in 1999.

She was in the county of Suffolk in the context of local self-government as a councilor ( Councillor ), both at the district level ( District ), as well as at the county level ( County) operates. She was Councillor of the Mid Suffolk District Council (1991-1994) and Councillor of Suffolk County Council (1993-2005); there she was Group President (Group Leader) of their party. She is Honorary President ( Hon President ) of the East Coast Sailing Trust. She is also a patron ( patron ) of the Pickerel Environment Project and the Pakenham Water Mill Trust and the Wings of Hope Charity Appeal.

Leader of the Liberal DIMOCRATS

8 November 2008 it was announced that Scott had won an internal vote of party members to the presidency of the Liberal Democrats, where they prevailed against Lembit Öpik.
