Rosario Department

The department Rosario is located in the southeast of the province of Santa Fe in the center of Argentina and is one of 19 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north and west by the departments of San Lorenzo, on the east by the province of Entre Ríos in the south and to the Departamento Constitucion.

The capital of the department of the same name is Rosario Rosario.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC, the population rose from 1,121,441 inhabitants (2001) to 1,268,681 inhabitants in 2005.
