Rose-Marie (singer)

Rose Marie, civil Rosemary Kane ( born 1956 in Newry, County Down ) is a Northern Irish singer.

Life

She was the eldest of six children. With five she sang in the school choir, and later with her sisters Anne, Madeleine and Kathleen Kane Sisters in local talent shows. At 17, she went to London, among other things, she sang in the Ken Mackintosh band. Her first solo single was "When I Leave The World Behind " by Irvin Berlin, her debut album in 1983 "Rose -Marie Sings Just For You ". So she was 13 weeks in the charts.

In 1986, she was referred to as "Britain's Best Female Vocalist", later as " British answer to Bette Midler " and " Irish World Best International Female Singer ".
