Rosemarie Hein

Rosemarie Anna Gertrud Hein ( born January 17, 1953 in Leipzig ) is a German politician of the Left Party from 1990 to 2006 Member of the Landtag of Saxony- Anhalt and since 2009 member of the German Bundestag.

Work and family

After graduation in Hennigsdorf Rosemarie Hein began in 1971 a study of pedagogy at the former Pedagogical University Dresden, where she graduated in 1975 as a teacher for the subjects German and art education. After that, she worked for five years at the EOS at Oschersleben.

From 1982 to 1986 Rosemarie Hein was as an aspirant at the Academy of Social Sciences of the Central Committee of the SED. During this time she wrote her dissertation on the topic A " Fine Arts of the GDR for the peace of the world: positions and problems in the seventies and eighties ."

Rosemarie Hein is married and has two daughters.

Political career

Rosemarie Hein came after several honorary positions in 1976, the SED. From 1980 to 1982 she worked in the SED district leadership Oschersleben. After the fall, she was elected in the spring of 1990 to the district chairman of the PDS in Magdeburg and in the summer of the same year as deputy state chairman. This office she held until 1995. From September 1997 to June 2005 she was state chairman of the PDS in Saxony- Anhalt. Since June 2007, it is one of the party executive of the party Die Linke.

In October 1990, she was first elected to the State Parliament of Saxony- Anhalt. Their political focus was on education policy. She was a member of the Committee for Culture and Media. In 2006, she did not run for the state legislature.

In June 2004, she was elected to the Magdeburg city council and involvement here mainly for the education policies of the city.

In the 2009 federal election on 27 September 2009, she was elected with 32.0 % of the vote in the German Bundestag as a direct candidate in the parliamentary constituency of Magdeburg ( Constituency 70). She also belongs to the 18th German Bundestag, where it is a member of the Committee on Education, Research and Technology Assessment.

Rosemarie Hein is the spokesperson for education of their party.
