Rosemary Goldie

Rosemary Goldie ( born 1 February 1916 in Manly, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, † February 27, 2010 ibid ) was an Australian Roman Catholic theologian.

Biography

Goldie, who grew up with her grandmother, and a medal device, studied post-school art and received in 1936 a grant from the Republic of France to study at the University of Paris Sorbonne and began under the influence of the philosopher Jacques Maritain their commitment in the Roman Catholic lay movement.

In the 1940s, she began working at the international student organization Pax Romana in Fribourg ( Switzerland ). In 1951, she worked for the 1st World Congress of lay church in Rome and began thereafter to study Catholic theology at the Academy of Mission of the Congregation de Propaganda Fide, as well as at two other Pontifical Universities. In 1964 their approval as one of the first women as listener to the Second Vatican Council, which took place 1962-1965.

In 1967, she was called by Pope Paul VI. called to sub- Secretary in the newly created, but still preliminary, Pontifical Council for the Laity ( Pontifical Consilium per Laicis ).
