Rosenbach, Vogtland

Rosenbach / Vogtl. is a municipality in Vogtland (Saxony), which was formed on 1 January 2011 by the voluntary association of municipalities Leubnitz, Mehltheuer and Syrau. The three communities were connected prior to the merger in the management association Rosenbach. Is named the community after the Rosenbach, a tributary of the White Elster.

Neighboring communities

The community Rosenbach borders seven churches, four of which are part of the Vogtland (V ) in Saxony, Thuringia, one for Saale-Orla- Kreis ( SOK ) and two to the district Greiz ( GRZ ) in Thuringia. Specifically, these are ( clockwise from the north): the City Zeulenroda ( GRZ ), Greiz ( GRZ ), the city of Plauen ( V), the communities Weischlitz (V) and Reuth (V ), the City Tanna ( SOK ) and the city of Pausa - Mühltroff (V).

Policy

In the council of the municipality newly formed January 1, 2011 six councilors of the previously independent municipalities were sent. This consists of the council of 18 members. Until the appointment of a full mayor led the former head of the Association of Management, Thomas Meinel, as Temporary Administrator shops. The election of the mayor was held on April 17, 2011. It took the three mayors of the previously independent municipalities. When choosing the former mayor Syrauer Achim Schulz won (FDP) 42.93 % of the vote, the former mayor flour Theuers, Kerstin Steinbach (CDU ), came to 28.96 % and the former mayor Eberhard Leubnitzer Prague (independent) was 28, combine 1% of the votes. The turnout was 61.59 %. Since in this election, none of the three candidates received an absolute majority, the election on May 8, had to be repeated. This election Achim Schulz went with 62.77 % of votes as the winner. 37.23 % of voters voted for the rival Kerstin Steinbach. Eberhard Prague was no longer started. The turnout fell to 44.75 %.

Attractions

In Leubnitz there is an early classical palace from 1794, which was built on the site of a former manor. In Syrau it shows the last windmill in Vogtland. It is a tower Dutch windmill that was built in its present form in 1887 and today is a technical museum.
