Rosenberg is a city located in Fort Bend County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States and is part of the Houston - Sugar Land - Baytown Metropolitan Area.

Geography

The city is located on Highway 59, about 50 km southwest of Houston, centrally located in Fort Bend County and has a total area of 55.1 km ², of which 0.1 km ² water surface.

History

The city was named after Henry Rosenberg, a Swiss emigrant who came to the United States in 1843 and later became the first president of the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway was. Settlement of the area began in 1823 by members of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred.
