Rosengartenspitze

Rosengartenspitze ( right) from Tschafon seen ( from the west )

The Rosengartenspitze (Italian Cima Catinaccio Ladin Ciadenac ) with its 2981 m slm Although only the second highest, but the most prominent by far peaks of the Rosengarten group of the same name, in the middle of it lies.

The rose garden tip reaches a length of about 1 km, runs from NNE to SSW and carries on the beautiful ridge to the north summit ( 2919 m asl ), the main summit ( 2981 m asl ) and the south summit ( 2913 m slm ). The most impressive wall demolition is up to 600 m high east wall.

The first ascent of the Rosengartenspitze took place on 31 August 1874 according to other sources already a year earlier, by the British Charles Comyns Tucker and TH Carson with the leader Francois Devouassoud about today's normal route via western flank and north ridge. The entrance to the normal route is accessible from the west via the Kölner Hütte, the Santnerpass via ferrata and the Santnerpass hut, or from the east in a comparatively long climb from the Vajolet Valley.

The 600 -meter-high, smooth east wall of the rose garden tip was in the summer of 1886 (according to other sources on August 28, 1896, so 10 years later, which sounds plausible ) by the British AGS Raynor and J. S. Phillimore with the leaders Dimai Antonio and Luigi Rizzi by climbing.
