Rosenholm Castle

Castle Rose Holm (Danish: Rose Holm slot) is known as the site since the 14th century. It was up to the Reformation in 1536 in the possession of the church and then the crown was assumed that it eintauschte 1559 against other possessions of the Rosenkrantz family. The castle is located north of Hornslet in Jutland on the Djursland.

In its present form it was built in 1559-1567 and is next to the castle Spøttrup one of the oldest plants in Denmark. In 1607, the four-winged, one of the very few influenced by the Italian Renaissance castle completely. In the 1740s the five -acre garden was laid out with symmetrical avenues and hedges.
