Roseto Sharks

Associazione sportiva Roseto Sharks is an Italian basketball club from Roseto degli Abruzzi. The club has its origins in 1946 founded association Roseto Basket. This was called in 2001 in Roseto Sharks before due to insolvency hired his professional game operation in 2006. Followed in 2009 by an interlude by Pallacanestro Roseto 1946 in the season 2008 / 09, the re-establishment of Roseto Sharks. In the season 2012/13 the Roseto Sharks play in the fourth highest Italian league Divisione Nazionale B.

History

Roseto Basket (1946 to 2006)

Having already since 1922 in association Polisportiva Rosetana basketball teams took part in competitions, it came in 1946 to the founding of the association Roseto Basket Ball Club. This association reached in 1953 the rise in the then second- highest division Serie B and four years later succeeded in rising to the former Serie A as the highest national league. After a further four seasons, however, was the relegation to Serie B, the one, henceforth belonged to a 1967/68 season, when they played in the C series. After setting up the series A2 1974 succeeded in 1982, the new leap in the second division. The A2 series but one belonged to only one season before had to descend as a table Penultimate again. As early as 1988 succeeded Roseto Basket again promotion to the third division in the series B1. 1990 you got out of this league already off again and returned only in 1997 back to the third-rate series B1. In the 1997/98 season of the walkover succeeded in the A2 series. In the second season in Serie A2 the championship in this division and thus in 2000 the return to the excellence achieved. From the following season 2001/ 02 then you went to as Euro Roseto Sharks and reached up to the 2003/ 04 always the Championship play-offs, but in which one always was eliminated in the first round. After the departure of the new name sponsor Sedima 2005 was reached, although in the 2005/06 season as athletic Fourth last in the league, but was due to bankruptcy, no license for another season.

Roseto Sharks (since 2009)

According to economic difficulties, agreed the president of the professional team of Fabriano Basket with organizing the Legadue that had the series A2 replaced, the transfer to Roseto, where the crew as Pallacanestro Roseto in relation to the former club Roseto Basket in the second highest in 1946 League took. After passablem start to the season this team slipped to the bottom of the table at the end of the season. Following in 2009, however, the Roseto Sharks were new and reached 2011, the new fourth- highest division Divisione National B.
