Ross McCormack

Ross McCormack ( born August 18, 1986 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish football player who is under contract with the English second division club Leeds United since 2010.

Playing career

Glasgow Rangers (2003-2006)

Ross McCormack made ​​his debut on 1 May 2004 with 17 years in the second half of the Scottish Premier League 2003 /04 against FC Motherwell to Glasgow Rangers. In the 2004/05 season, the Rangers secured the title in the Scottish Premier League, however, McCormack came only in a league game for use. In the UEFA Champions League 2005 /06 he played against FC Porto his first European game and scored after 76 minutes Substitutes in just seven minutes later leveled the score at 1-1.

From 17 January to 7 May 2006, he played on loan for the English third division side Doncaster Rovers and scored in nineteen league games five goals.

FC Motherwell (2006-2008)

On 11 July 2006 McCormack joined the Scottish Premier League rivals FC Motherwell and signed a two-year contract. Due to injury, he graduated in the 2006/07 season only twelve league games and scored two goals. The following season it ran both for him and for the club much better and Ross McCormack (36 games / 8 goals) finished the season with Motherwell in third place in the standings.

Cardiff City (2008-2010)

Following this success, in Scotland, he signed 28 June 2008 a contract with the Welsh club Cardiff City. McCormack scored in his first season in the second-rate English Football League Championship 2008/ 09 twenty-one league goal and thus was second top scorer behind Sylvan Ebanks -Blake of Wolverhampton Wanderers. Cardiff missed seventh for a place to play-off ranks and thereby missed the rise. The Championship 2009/10 was less successful for him with only four goals in thirty-four league games. For Cardiff reached after a fourth place the first play-off round and moved to a victory over Leicester City in the final. Leeds United (2010 -)

After he had earlier in the season lost his place in attack of Cardiff, he joined on August 27, 2010 for the second-division promoted Leeds United and signed a three -year contract. Again affected by injuries, he played only twenty-one games in the Football League Championship 2010/ 11 and scored two goals. Leeds finished the season in 7th place, and thus missed the play-off collection. In the 2011/12 season McCormack started promisingly, scoring in the first round ten league goals.

Scottish national team ( 2008 -)

After eleven games in the Scottish U -21, Ross McCormack makes his debut on 30 May 2008 in a 1-3 defeat in the Czech Republic for Scotland. His first hit he succeeded on 1 April 2009 in a 2-1 home win over Iceland.
