Roßdorf is a district of the city Jerichow district Jerichower Land in Saxony- Anhalt ( Germany ).
Geography
Roßdorf lies about 5 km northeast of Genthin near the border of the Land of Brandenburg in the oxbow lake of the Elbe- Havel Canal and Stremme, which belongs to the catchment area of the Havel.
History
For the first time Roßdorf, a village Wendish origin mentioned in documents in 1368 in Magdeburg Lehnbuch the bishops as " Radestorp ". The name originally meant " deforested village", and derives from the origin of the village, as the swamp forests cleared and arable land was created.
Until December 31, 2009 Roßdorf was an independent municipality with the associated hamlet Dark Forth. Last mayor Roßdorfs was Rudolf Drescher. January 1, 2010 Roßdorf was incorporated into the city Jerichow.

Coat of arms and flag
The coat of arms was approved on 7 November 1997 by the regional council of Magdeburg.
Blazon: " Argent, on a green hill in front of the left made green oak with three golden fruit a border black horse with golden hooves. "
The design is recommended by the National Archives black and white sketch of Otto grain based.
