Roßkopfturm

The Roßkopf tower (actually Friedrich storm after the Grand Duke Friedrich I of Baden ) is a 34.4 meter high observation tower in steel truss design, which given by the Black Forest Association commissioned and financed in 1889 by the Freiburg-based Ph. Ant Lazy on the between Dreisamtal and Glottertal situated 737 meters high Rosskopf was built in Freiburg im Breisgau. He is one of the oldest steel lattice towers in Germany and allows the visitor with its treetops of wooded hilltop superior viewing platform an all-round panoramic views of the Black Forest and the Rhine Valley, in good visibility towards the south to the Alps and west to the Imperial throne and of the Vosges Mountains.
