Rostock Peace Treaty

The Rostock the peace was a closed in Rostock on June 13, 1283 Contract farming and Seebefriedung and protect the customs and other freedoms. In ten years the contracting parties undertook to renounce violence to enforce their own legal rights. This agreement was the basis for the economic rise of Wismar and other port cities on the Baltic Sea.

The parties involved were the Hanseatic cities of Lübeck, Rostock, Wismar, Stralsund, Greifswald, Stettin, Pomerania and Anklam and the Dukes of Saxony and Pomerania, the princes of Rügen, the Lords of Schwerin and Dannenberg and the chivalry of Rostock.
