History

The lighthouse was in the years 1912 and 1913 as a cross light to warn of a sand bank in the entrance to the Lister Tief to have a supplement for the main fire ( Kampen ) built. The 1913 put into operation, clinkered tower is the earliest concrete tower on the German coast. It is about 2.5 km northwest of the beacon Kampen. The electrification of the fire was in 1936. Until the shutdown of the tower in 1974, the fire was from the beacon keepers of the great tower in Kampen monitored. After the beacon has been deleted, took over the beacons in Kampen his task with a red sector. Without the beacon device and only as a daily visual mark, the tower is now owned by the municipality of Kampen and being entertained by it. 1993 to 1994 the tower was restored. 2012 was a further reorganization. The building lies in the dunes is illuminated at night.
