Rothaarsteig

The Rothaarsteig ( Wegzeichen R) is a 154.0 km long and 2001 eröffneter distance trail runs in particular on the main ridge of the Rothaargebirge, a low mountain range in North Rhine -Westphalia (NW) and Hessen (HE ), and in the Westerwald variant a detour in Westerwald, a low mountain range in North Rhine -Westphalia, Hesse and Rhineland- Palatinate.

Overview

The Rothaarsteig was opened on 6 May 2001 at the Ginsburg. His main path leads from Brilon ( NW) through the Rothaar predominantly südsüdwestwärts among other things, the Langeberg (highest mountain in North Rhine -Westphalia ) to Dillenburg (HE).

The largest part of the Rothaarsteig is Rothaargebirge Nature Park. Befahrung by bicycle
