Rotrude

Rotrud ( Hruodtrud ) (* probably 775; † June 6, 810) was the eldest daughter of Charlemagne from his marriage to Hildegard.

781 it was at the instigation of the Byzantine Empress Irene with Constantine VI. engaged. Rotrud was informed by the eunuchs Elissaios in the Greek. The promise of marriage, however, was solved 787.

From its junction with the nobles of Neustria Rorico (also Rorich ), later Count of Maine, Count of Rennes previously, came from Ludwig ( * 800, † 867 ), who later became abbot of Saint -Denis ( Rorgoniden )
