Geographical Location

Rottelsdorf is the southernmost district of the city Gerbstedt, it is located about 11 km northeast of Eisleben and 7 km south of the capital Gerbstedt on the Mansfeld plate, a low upland plateau. History

On 1 January 2010 the municipalities Rottelsdorf, Augsdorf, Friedeburgerhütte, Hübitz, Ihlewitz, Siersleben, Welfesholz and Zabenstedt merged with the city Gerbstedt the new city Gerbstedt. The administrative community Gerbstedt, belonged to the Rottelsdorf, was dissolved.

Economy and infrastructure

Economic base of the town is agriculture. As well as the wind energy by means of large wind farms Rottelsdorf - Beesenstedt, which is increased annually. There are currently three new plants under construction and more planned.

Traffic

At the federal highway 180 which Aschersleben and Eisleben connects, it is 9.3 km to the west.
