Rotterdamse Elektrische Tram

The Rotterdamse Electric Tram N.V. (RET ) is the operator of the Metro, tram and bus transport in the Dutch city of Rotterdam.

The Rotterdamse Electric Tram was founded in 1878 as Rotterdamse Electric Tramweg - Maatschappij ( RETM ). From 1927 it was called then Rotterdamse Electric Tram.1956 it was renamed Electric Tram in Rotterdamse.

About 185.7 million passengers annually transported on 8 tram lines, 5 metro lines, 40 bus lines and 1 ferry. Of these, approximately 38.7 million passengers in the buses, 59.9 million passengers in trams and 87.1 million passengers in the subway on the way. Every day, approximately 600,000 people with the RET. The fast ferry connects Hoek van Holland with some targets in the port area Maasvlakte.

On March 10, 2014 33 passengers were in the collision of three railcars, in the district Breeplein in Rotterdam -Zuid, injured. The accident occurred near the De Kuip stadium.
