Rouf, Athens

Rouf (Greek Ρουφ ) is a neighborhood of the Greek capital Athens. It is located west of the city, southwest of the Omonia Square in the area where the wide and busy streets Piraeus ( Piraeus Street) and Petrou Ralli ( Petros - Rallis - road ) meet.

Rouf has long been an industrial area. Gradually, the industries are, however, pulled away for the most part.

In the neighborhood there is the Rouf Barracks, next to the Goudi barracks one of the major military bases in Athens.

Through the quarter leads the S-Bahn (Metro Athens ) Piraeus - Kifissia; there is also the train station " Rouf ". It also houses a small theater ( " Τρένο στο Ρουφ " train in Rouf ), featuring performances in disused railway wagons.

The district has a tradition-rich football club PAO Rouf, who plays in the first squad of the 3rd Division ( Football League 2 ).
