Roussillon, Isère

Roussillon is a French municipality with 7983 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Isère, in the Rhône -Alpes; it belongs to the district of the canton of Vienne and Roussillon.

Geography

Roussillon is located halfway between Lyon and Valence few kilometers from the Rhône.

The Renaissance castle Roussillon ( 16th century monument historique ) was built by order of Cardinal François de Tournon II. Here, signed King Charles IX. 1564 the Edict of Roussillon.
