The Ruta 1, named after Brigadier General Manuel Oribe, is a state highway in the south of Uruguay.

The approximately 170 -km-long, four-lane road has its beginning in the capital Montevideo. There she created as an offshoot of Bulevar Artigas and the Ruta 5 and ends in the southwest of the country in Colonia del Sacramento. On her way she performs Santiago Vázquez, Ciudad del Plata, Libertad, Ecilda Paullier, Nueva Helvecia, Rosario and Juan Lacaze.

Between Santiago Vázquez and Ciudad del Plata, the road crosses the Río Santa Lucía on a new bridge, completed in 2005, replacing an east adjacent old truss bridge and is named after the singer and composer Alfredo Zitarrosa since 2010.
