Rovsing's sign

As Rovsing character ( after Niels Thorkild Rovsing, Danish surgeon, 1862-1927 ) refers to the case of appendicitis ( " appendicitis " ) in the right lower abdomen releasable pain caused by the backward spreading of the large intestine (colon ) counterclockwise ( arise, for appendix out ). The triggering of the Rovsing sign is not specific for appendicitis, just as the non- inducibility such excludes. The sign is therefore to use only in context with other clinical findings.
