Roxana Briban

Roxana Briban ( born October 28, 1971 in Bucharest, † November 20, 2010 ibid ) was a Romanian soprano.

Briban debuted in 2000 with Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro at the Opera Naţională Bucureşti. She had appearances in all prestigious opera houses in the world, including in Bucharest, Berlin, Toulouse, Amsterdam, Seoul, Bangkok and Santiago. In 2003, she was the Micaela in Georges Bizet's Carmen, 2008, Amelia Grimaldi in Verdi's Simon Boccanegra and 2009, the Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro at the Vienna State Opera.

Briban committed suicide at the age of 39 years, to all appearances 20 November 2010 suicide. She suffered from depression and had a vocal crisis since one and a half years. She was married.
