The Roxbury Russet is a very old variety of apple culture.

It is considered the oldest apple variety in the USA, since they in a tree garden in Roxbury ( a village which is part of Boston today ) was discovered in 1645. She is a rennet, with gray- green bowl, known for their durability and suitable for cider. Today it is rarely planted.
