Roy Andersson

Roy Andersson ( born March 31, 1943 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish film director and screenwriter.

His best known works are A Swedish Love Story and Songs from the Second Floor, in particular the latter has strengthened the personal style Andersson. This is among other things characterized by long takes, comic absurdity, the grotesque, the caricaturing of Swedish culture and anti-capitalist themes. As a director, he has spent most of his professional creativity with the work on commercials. More than 300 commercials were created under his direction in three decades, as well as several short films, but only four works feature length.
