Roy Hay (musician)

Roy Ernest Hay ( born August 12, 1961 in Southend, England ) is a British musician and former guitarist and keyboardist with Culture Club.

Life and work

Hay was born the son of a dock worker in 1961 in Southend. After leaving school, he worked for several years in an insurance office. In 1980 he started a hairdressing apprenticeship in Stamford, Essex.

At that time he was a member of the band " Russian Bouquet", but he left after a former insurance colleague brought him in contact with Boy George. Along with Jon Moss and Mikey Craig they called themselves "Culture Club".

Christmas 1982 Hay married Alison Green. The marriage ended in divorce in 2005. Hay and Green have a daughter.

In 1987, the band released their final resolution known, and could be heard up to their less successful comeback in 1998 nothing more of him. This continued after they had separated again, continuing until the time of reunification without Boy George in 2006 as a " Culture Club Reborn ".
