Roy Sentjens

Roy Sentjens (* December 15 1980 in Neerpelt ) is a Belgian racing cyclist. At first he had a dual citizenship. His mother is Belgian and his father is Dutch.

Sentjens won the 2001 U23 host the Tour of Flanders and got settled for the upcoming season a professional contract with Rabobank. There he went into the youth team since 1997. In 2003 he celebrated his biggest success by winning the Belgian semi- classic Kuurne -Brussels- Kuurne. A year later he won a stage of the Tour Noord -Nederland.

On August 16, 2010 Roy Sentjens tested positive for EPO and then suspended from the team Milram. Sentjens announced his immediate resignation from cycling and gave as reasons for the doping to private and health reasons; he suffers from Guillain -Barre syndrome, a disease of the nervous system, leading to paralysis. In December 2010, he was retroactively September 9, suspended for two years. On September 9, 2012, he returned as a member of the Cycling Team de Rijke back in the peloton.

End of the 2013 season, he finished his career as a professional cyclist.
