Roy Thomas

Roy Thomas ( born November 22, 1940) is an American comic book writer. He was Stan Lee's successor as editor in chief of Marvel. He was known primarily for his authorship on the series Conan the Barbarian. He also wrote the screenplay for the animated film Fire and Ice.

Life

Born in 1940 Roy Thomas enthusiastic already in his childhood comics. After graduating college in 1961, he spent four years as a teacher. In 1965 he went to New York City and worked for the publisher DC Comics as an assistant to Mort Weisinger. In the same year he became a writer for Marvel Comics. His first comic was Whom Can I Turn To? in the series Modeling with Millie, number 44 He later wrote, among other things, for the series Iron Man, Doctor Strange, X-Men and The Avengers

1972 Thomas editor in chief of Marvel publishing, but continued to write comics, especially Conan the Barbarian. After 1974 he gave up the post of Chefredadkteurs, follow work on, among others, The Fantastic Four, Spider -Man and Ghost Rider.

1981 Thomas went on for some time again for competition Publisher DC. In 1985 he returned to Marvel. In the 1990s, after all, he devoted himself more to the Independent comics that appeared outside the major publishing houses.
