Roy Thomson Hall

The Roy Thomson Hall is a concert hall in the city center the Canadian city of Toronto. It is the seat of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, which occurred earlier in the Massey Hall.

The Roy Thomson Hall was opened in 1982 and renovated in 2002. Their external shape of a curved truncated cone is covered with a textured glass facade. Architects of the building were Arthur Erickson and Mather & Haldenby. The construction costs amounted to 17.7 million Canadian dollars. The hall doubles every year for gala performances as part of the Toronto International Film Festival, one of which main venues it is.
