Roy is a city in Weber County in the U.S. state of Utah.

History

The settlement began in 1873 as one of the last settlements in the area. In 1894 the post office was opened. In the early years, the name of the settlement changed several times. As the son of a local teacher died, was chosen his first name to the name of the place. 1937 Roy became a town. During World War II the city grew because military facilities were adjacent. Today is close to the southeast a major base of the United States Air Force.

Education

Roy is home to several primary schools and the Roy High School.
