Royal Antwerp FC

The Royal Antwerp FC is the oldest football club in Belgium. The club was founded in 1880. The Royal Antwerp FC is also called " The Great Old ".

In recent years the club played in the Belgian second division. In 1993, the Royal Antwerp FC was still present in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup. The game played at the legendary Wembley finals lost the Antwerp club, however, against AC Parma with 1:3. In order for the Royal Antwerp FC is the last Belgian club, who could reach a final of a European competition.

Since 1998, the Royal Antwerp FC collaborates with Manchester United. So young, mostly non- European talent often collect first match practice at Royal Antwerp FC. One reason for this is that individuals who live for two years in Belgium, get a Belgian passport and thus be EU citizens.

The Royal Antwerp FC plays since 1923 in Bosuilstadion ( 16,649 seats). Previously, he had played since 1908 on a football field at the Broodstraat.
