Royal Arms of Cambodia

The coat of arms of the Kingdom of Cambodia since 1993, the year the first free elections after the fall of the Khmer Rouge and the introduction of a constitutional monarchy, in use. It differs from the coat of arms of 1948 only in details.

Description

In the blue blazon two superimposed standing golden cup on a golden sword with the tip pointing to the right rests and everything is accompanied by two green laurel branches. In the sign is the Royal Order of Cambodia. The sign is the golden, radiant at the top royal crown with accompanying arabesques. The shield is of silver - golden coat of arms surrounded coat with Goldsaum.

Supporters are two golden rotgezungte Asian mythical lions. The right is a Gajasiha ( " elephant - lion", with trunk and tusks ), the left one Rajasiha ( "The Lion King "). Both each hold a four-stage golden parasol. They stand on a blue ribbon with golden edges and white font contain the motto. Under the plate there are golden arabesques.

Symbolism

The coat of arms of 1948 had a five-stage screen.

According to legend, the sword was the god of art for King Jayavarman VI. (reigned 1080-1106 ) was prepared. The cups sysmbolisieren the ritual presentation of this sacred sword ( Preah Khan ). A blue ribbon with gold edge shows the coat of arms motto.
