Royal Chapel of Granada

Capilla Real is the Spanish name of the Royal Chapel, a southeastern extension at the Cathedral of Granada, where the mortal remains of the Catholic Kings Ferdinand II and Isabella of Castile and that of their daughter Joanna of Castile and the son in law of the Habsburg Philip the Fair and the already two years late Crown Prince Miguel da Paz rest.

The church, built between 1518 and the 18th century, has high artistic level, because here come together stylistic elements of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. In addition, the connected sacristy museum hosts a number of high-quality panel paintings, including works of the Renaissance masters Botticelli and Perugino and the Early Netherlandish Dieric Bouts, Rogier van der Weyden and Hans Memling.
