The Royal Netherlands Football Association ( KNVB [ pronunciation: [ ka ː ɛn ve ː be ː ]]) ( Dutch: Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbal Bond [ pronunciation: [ ko ː nɪŋk ˌ lə.kə ne ː jər ˌ lɑnt.sə vut.bɑl ˌ bɔnt ]. .. .. ]; to 1929 Nederlandsche Voetbalbond [ pronunciation:. .. ne ː ˌ jər lɑnt.sə vut.bɑl ˌ bɔnt ] ), the Football Association in the Netherlands. Organization

The KNVB organizes the Dutch national football teams of men and women and youth, disability football and futsal, beyond the professional leagues Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie, the cup competition for the KNVB Beker, the highest leagues in amateur ( Hoofdklassen ), futsal and women. The lower classes are organized by six regional associations.

History

The Dutch Football Federation was founded in 1889 as the Nederlandsche Voetbal Bond -en Athletic ( NVAB ), but in 1895 left the athletes the dressing. The Nederlandsche Voetbalbond ( NBI) organized the first football especially from clubs in the west of the Netherlands. When in 1904 the FIFA was launched, the NBI was one of the founding members. The alliance was renewed after the Second World War and sealed so that the KNVB was responsible as the sole governing body for the Dutch football.

By 1954, the association held on to a pure amateur sport under his powerful chairman Karel Lotsy.
